Mar./2nd/2020 Performance Review Meeting

Performance Review Meeting was held and Mr. Kamura, Mr. Yamada and Mr. Wakafuji, 4th year undergraduates, gave presentations!

It was the first time for them to make public presentations of their researches, so all three looked nervous.

The Question-and-answer session was as short as two minutes, but they would have felt it like a very long time. Great job!




Feb./19th/2020 Wrap-up Party for D3 & M2 Students

After Defense of doctoral thesis ended successfully, we held a wrap-up party for D3 & M2 students!

We had a drinking party in the lab for the first time in a while and we enjoyed chatting and exchanging opinions!

Now it's time for the fourth grader to make a final push for the performance review meeting, so please work hard after this party!




Feb./19th/2020 Defense of Doctoral Thesis

Defense of doctoral thesis was held and Mr. Wakiyama gave a presentation.

Mr. Wakiyama was hurt, riding a bicycle while the public hearing was approaching and he was concerned about holding it.

Although, thanks to the high healing power of himself, the public hearing was made as scheduled!

Feb./14th/2020 Defense of Master's Thesis

Defense of master's thesis was held, and Mr. Akamine, Mr. Koga, Mr. Sakaguchi, Mr. Taira and Mr. Yamakawa of the second year of the master course gave presentations!

Mr. Akamine, Mr. Koga and Mr. Yamakawa will be working professionals from next fiscal year, and Mr. Sakaguchi and Mr. Taira will proceed to the doctoral program.

Jan./28th/2020 Kyushu University Energy Week 2020

We participated in Kyushu University Energy Week 2020 held from January 27 to 31.

Mr. Wakiyama and Mr. Taira got poster awards! Congratulations!




Dec./24th/2019 End-of-year Party

After the last seminar on 2019, we moved to Onyasai near the Kyudai-gakkentoshi station and hold an End-of-year Party!

It was all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat for 2 hours, however, 2 hours was not enough for us!

At the end of the party, we made a group photo!

Dec./5th/2019 the International Year of the Periodic Table of Elements(IYPT2019)

2019 is the 150th anniversary of Dmitri Mendelef's discovery of the periodic rule of the element, The United Nations General Assembly has declared to celebrate 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table of Elements(IYPT2019).

It was also celebrated that Nihonium was the first new element from Japan and Asia.

Prof. Sakai of our lab attended the closing ceremony of IYPT2019, the official UNESCO-approved IUPAC event, held at Tokyo Prince Hotel on December 5th.




Nov./20th-24th/2019 International Conference on Artificial Photosynthesis-2019(ICARP2019)

We participated in International Conference on Artificial Photosynthesis-2019(ICARP2019) in Hiroshima.

Mr. Aimoto got a poster prize! Congratulations!

Prof. Sakai of our laboratory gave an invited talk.

Students who had enough time before and after the conference also enjoyed sightseeing in Hiroshima a little.




Nov./2nd/2019 The 50th Anniversary Symposium of Kyushu Social Gathering of Coordination Chemistry

We participated in the 50th Anniversary Symposium of Kyushu Social Gathering of Coordination Chemistry and gave poster presentations.

Dr. Kosei Yamauchi, our Assistant Professor, gave an oral presentation.

Oct./2019 Arnau's Farewell Party

We held a Farewell Party for Dr. Arnau, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Sakai Lab. since 2017.

Mr. Jeong who graduated in this autumn also participated in the party.

We gave them flower-shaped boards on which we wrote messages to them.

Oct./2nd-3rd/2019 Prof. Shigeyuki Masaoka's intensive course and lecture

We invited Prof. Shigeyuki Masaoka from Osaka University. On the intensive course, we acquired useful knowledge for studying Coordination Chemistry.

After the intensive course on the first day, we participated in his lecture.

Sep./21st-23rd/2019 The 69th Conference of Japan Society of Coordination Chemistry(JSCC69)

We participated in JSCC69 held in Nagoya, Japan.
